If you’re wondering if you should get a manual treadmill or not, here’s an article you’re going to want to have a look over. You see, about the only benefit to getting a manual treadmill over an electrical treadmill is the price. The big question though is, is it worth the price drop to go with a manual treadmill?
Well, truth be told, in general a manual treadmill is not going to be a good idea, here’s why:
1. You Can’t Adjust It While Working Out
One of the great things about an electric treadmill is that during a workout you can immediately adjust the incline of the treadmill to provide yourself with a more challenging workout, this can mean the difference between losing weight and not losing weight in any given week.
If you were to try and change the incline on manual treadmills, you’d have to jump off quick, and lift and click the treadmill into place, then jump back on and start running. Not the most efficient way of doing things, but I suppose it could be done. It’s just much more efficient and convenient to have it as a built in function on the go.
2. You Don’t Get Pre-Programmed Courses
Another great benefit of having an electric treadmill over a manual treadmill is the ability to use programmed courses as part of your workout. This can help break up the monotony of it all and make things more interesting to you. In addition to that, it will also help you to burn more calories as it will be more challenging for you.
Now I’ve just covered a few of the reasons, but already you can see that going with a manual treadmill is probably not in your best interests. If you’re seriously strapped for cash, it’s best to stick to just running around outside than settling for a machine without the bells and whistles.
